‘It would be nice’: Ben Davies says he’d love to have £86m player at Tottenham

Tottenham struggled towards the end of the season in the Premier League this term.

Spurs’ form seemed to fall off a cliff in early 2024, but they still managed to do something incredible this season.

Indeed, regardless of Tottenham’s late-season form, the reality is that Spurs managed to improve this season despite selling Harry Kane.

Tottenham sold their talisman to Bayern Munich the day before the Premier League season started, but, under Ange Postecoglou, they still managed to finish higher than they did under Antonio Conte.

Speaking on the Business of Sport Podcast, Davies has been discussing Kane’s departure, and the Welshman noted that Spurs do still miss Kane, claiming that it would be nice to have the £86m striker still in the squad.

Ben Davies would like Harry Kane back at Tottenham

Davies claimed it would be nice to have Kane back in this Tottenham team.

“Yeah people had to step up. What would we do? Just mope around all season saying we’d love to have Harry Kane? We had to knuckle down and share the responsibility to get better. Of course, it would be nice to have Harry Kane in your team, but everyone in football would say that, but you play the hand you’re dealt,” Davies said.

Tottenham miss Kane

Tottenham have improved this season under their new manager, but make no mistake about it, they still really miss Harry Kane.

The England captain is arguably the best striker in the world, and if he was in this Spurs team, they would perhaps be contending for major honours.

Of course, Tottenham do have some defensive issues that they need to fix, but towards the end of the season they were also blunt in the attack.

Tottenham still need to replace Kane, and with the summer transfer window soon to be open, don’t be shocked if Spurs are indeed in the market for a striker.
