'I am very prepared': Incoming Inter Miami signing shares how he feels about training alongside Lionel Messi

Incoming Inter Miami arrival Giovanni Ferraina has shared how he feels about soon getting to train alongside Argentine hero Lionel Messi.

The Herons are set to confirm the signing of the 20-year-old Boca Juniors defender in the coming days, with Ferraina initially joining on loan with a $1.5m option to buy at the end of the MLS season in December.

As well as signing on loan, Ferraina will also join up with Inter Miami II, with the idea being that the defender will slowly be integrated into the senior squad depending on how the youngster adjusts to life in Florida.

And Ferraina has now shared what he is most excited about in regards to Inter Miami and Messi.

Ferraina excited to begin training with Inter Miami alongside Messi

Speaking to ESPN, Ferraina shared how excited he is to train alongside Messi, with the defender calling the opportunity ‘a dream’ ahead of his move to Inter Miami this month.

With the Herons light in defense, there’s a realistic opportunity that Ferraina could be promoted to Inter Miami’s first-team before Messi even returns from the Copa America, a situation the center-back would seemingly love.

Ferraina said when asked about how he is feeling about his transfer to Inter Miami: “I am very eager and excited to face this new challenge. I am very grateful to all the people at Inter and Boca.

“I am very prepared physically and mentally to face this challenge. It would be a dream to be able to share a training session with the best in the world [Messi]. The great goal is to be in the first team, I am going with a backpack full of hopes.”

Messi’s allure at Inter Miami remains as strong as ever

Messi’s pull has been one of the defining traits of this new era at Inter Miami, where the 36-year-old superstar has the power to attract promising players and to help the cause for the MLS side.

And the signing of Ferraina is the latest edition of such a trend, with arrivals this summer also likely to cite Messi as an inspiration to join Inter Miami ahead of more glamourous locations.

Indeed, Inter Miami find themselves as one of the most appealing clubs in all of world football to join, and Ferraina’s comments show that there could be more to come for the Herons in the market.
