'Signed his contract': Fabrizio Romano has just dropped big Chelsea night-time update

Chelsea have hit the ground running in the transfer market and already have their first signing of the summer in the bag.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who dropped an exciting transfer update for Blues fans on Thursday night.

Chelsea have a big summer ahead of them as they look to improve on last season’s sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.

In addition, the Blues have a new manager on board in Enzo Maresca, and they’ll want to ensure he can make the strongest possible start.

Over the past week or so, speculation linking Chelsea with Tosin Adarabioyo has intensified massively, to the point that a move to West London seemed a near-certainty.

And on Thursday night, Romano took to X to claim that the 26-year-old has now signed his contract at Stamford Bridge ahead of his Fulham contract expiring.

Adarabioyo has joined Chelsea as a free agent on a deal that runs until 2028 following his medical on Wednesday, added Romano.

Who is Chelsea target Tosin Adarabioyo?

Tosin Adarabioyo is a centre-back who has been one of the most highly sought after free agents of the summer.

He has made 132 appearances for Fulham since joining in 2020, also registering five goals and two assists for the Cottagers.

At 26 years of age, Adarabioyo is only just entering his prime as a defender. The 6ft 5in ace is strong, fast and physically imposing.

If he was joining for a significant transfer fee, he’d be worth it. But signing him on a free transfer is nothing short of spectacular.

Chelsea appear to have won this race, and they’ve got themselves a superb defender.
