Good Samaritan who stopped to help at I-195 crash gets car stolen, police say

New Jersey State Police are looking for two people who flipped a car on Interstate 195 early Wednesday and then stole the vehicle of a good Samaritan who stopped to help.

At 3:17 a.m. Wednesday morning, A passing driver pulled over after seeing the overturned car at 3:17 a.m. on Interstate 195 in Jackson Township, State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said Thursday.

Once the motorist got out to help, the two former occupants of the overturned vehicle jumped in the other vehicle and drove off, Marchan said.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Galloway Township in Atlantic County. The vehicle that crashed on I-195 had been stolen from Freehold, police said.

Marchan said authorities are continuing to investigate.
