Report: Chelsea are keen on signing ‘strong’ player who they previously let leave for free

Reports have claimed that Chelsea are keen on a reunion with one player they actually let leave on a free transfer.

The Blues are set for another busy summer of transfers coming both in and out of the club as they look to back yet another new manager at Stamford Bridge.

This time it is the turn of Enzo Maresca, and the fact he has been offered a long contract suggests that there is plenty of faith in his ability to take the side into the future.

He will need signings though, and the club already confirmed today that they would be adding Tosin Aderabioyo to their ranks.

A goalkeeper is reportedly potentially on the shortlist for the club too, with the situation certainly not secure for anyone between the sticks in West London at the moment.

Chelsea keen on Marcin Bulka

According to L’Equipe, the Blues have an interest in signing Marcin Bulka to play that role in the long term.

The 24-year-old has come on leaps and bounds since he was let go by Chelsea, and last season he kept 17 clean sheets in 34 Ligue 1 games for Nice.

He has received plenty of praise during his short career already, with former teammate Andy Delort describing him as the strongest goalkeeper he has seen.

Enzo Maresca wants to work with Robert Sanchez

It has been reported that Maresca mentioned Djordje Petrovic individually as a player he likes during original talks with the club.

Since then, it has emerged that he is also excited to work alongside Robert Sanchez, who spent pretty much all of 2024 on the bench.

Bulka would no doubt be a serious upgrade on both though, and now the club have to decide if they see goalkeeper as a priority position they need to strengthen, or if they can cope with who they have and look at other roles in the side for targets.
