Report: Liverpool now ready to bid £8m to sign South American winger; Michael Edwards fully behind deal

Liverpool could be about to make their opening bid of the summer as they look to land on of South America’s biggest and brightest talents.

The Reds are expected to make a number of signings this summer and have put the building blocks firmly in place to do just that.

Michael Edwards returned in the summer and he has brought in Richard Hughes to further enhance the Reds’ recruitment team.

And with Arne Slot now taking charge of the first-team, Liverpool could well see new face arrive.

Indeed, according to reports coming out of Chile, Liverpool are now ready to make a bid for one of South America’s top young players.

Liverpool to make £8m bid for Dario Osorio

According to a report from La Tercera, the Reds are keen on signing Osorio and are looking to make a bid for the attacking midfielder.

It’s suggested that Michael Edwards is firmly behind the decision and a bid from the Reds could be incoming, with a percentage of a future sell-on also included.

Osorio is currently playing his football in Denmark with FC Midtjylland and has put in a number of impressive performances over the course of the season.

That form, though, has caught the eye of onlooking clubs and Liverpool could be about to make their move.

Indeed, his current club are not even denying potential interest from Liverpool either.

“You will understand that we cannot comment on possible offers for our players. We cannot advance anything. Simply put, this is not the way we work,” sports director Ove Pederson is quoted as saying.

“I can only tell you that Darío Osorio is a great player and has had a great season.”
