Martin Odegaard suggests he’d really like to play with £72m Manchester United player

Martin Odegaard has named a Manchester United player as someone he would like to play with at international level.

Speaking to TVSport2, Odegaard was asked a number of quickfire questions ahead of Norway’s game against Denmark on Saturday evening.

Interestingly, Odegaard was asked who he would take if he could only take one player from Denmark to play for Norway.

Denmark, of course, have a number of fantastic players from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Christian Eriksen.

However, Odegaard picked another Dane in the shape of Rasmus Hojlund as the player he’d take in his Norway team, claiming that he’d like another striking option in the side.

Martin Odegaard would like Rasmus Hojlund in his Norway team

Odegaard spoke about the £72m man, claiming he’d like to play with him at international level.

“If you could take one player from Denmark to play for Norway who would you take?” Odegaard was asked.

“Hojlund, then we have another one at the top there,” Odegaard said.

Imagine Norway’s attack

It’s not a stretch to say that Norway would have the best attack in world football if Hojlund was in their team.

Martin Odegaard may be the best number 10 in the Premier League, while Erling Haaland is undoubtedly the best striker in Europe right now.

Add a very promising and effective young player like Hojlund to that mix and you have a three-pronged attack that would cause any team in the world a number of problems.

There is something of a golden generation brewing in Norway right now, and while they may not have qualified for the Euros this time around, you wouldn’t back against them making a splash at a tournament in the near future.

Scandinavian football is in the best place it’s been in for a long time, and the likes of Odegaard, Haaland and Hojlund are at the forefront of that.
