‘To be honest’: Theo Walcott says Arsenal have a player who’s even better than Phil Foden

Theo Walcott has been ranking some of the best wingers in the Premier League.

Speaking to ESPN on TikTok, Walcott was asked to rank some of the best wide players in the league.

The likes of Michael Olise and Cole Palmer were placed high on Walcott’s list, but his top two players were two English stars.

Indeed, Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden were Walcott’s top two wingers in the Premier League, and he actually stated that Saka is better than Foden.

Bukayo Saka better than Phil Foden

Walcott spoke highly of the Arsenal star, placing him above Foden in his winger tier list.

“Phil Foden?” Walcott was asked.

“He’s had a great year, but there’s one player I’m waiting to hear, I’ll go two,” Walcott said.

“Bukayo Saka?” Walcott was asked.

“He’s the one I’ve been waiting for, he’s number one to be honest in the Prem,” Walcott said.

Saka vs Foden

This is a debate that is bound to split the footballing community, and it’s a debate that has been going on for some time now.

Indeed, Saka and Foden have been competing for a spot in the England side for some time now, and at the last two tournaments, Saka has been given the nod.

It’s not just Walcott who rates Saka ahead of Foden, Jermain Defoe has had similar to say in the past.

“Saka. I think you’ve just got to say it how it is,” he said. “Saka is a special player. And from what I hear he’s one of the nicest boys as well. He’s so good for the changing room.

“I love Foden, he’s a special player. But I just feel like Saka’s got a little bit more.”

Both players are absolutely fantastic, and while Foden has been better this season, there is a strong argument to make that Saka has outperformed Foden over the past few years.
