‘He has grown’…Tony Cascarino claims one Liverpool player has gone to ‘another level’ recently

Liverpool have a number of quality operators in their ranks right now and Tony Cascarino believes one of their internationals has gone to another level.

The Reds are among a cluster of Premier League teams with a number of players taking part in Euro 2024 this summer.

The likes of Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai will all be in Germany hoping to bring home the famous trophy.

And according to Tony Cascarino, one of those aforementioned players has seen his game go to a new level thanks to his performances at international level.

Andy Robertson has gone to ‘a new level’ after starring for Scotland

Speaking on TalkSPORT about the Liverpool left-back, Cascarino credited his role with Scotland as being key to him improving even further.

“Andy Robertson, the captain, I think he has gone onto a new level for Scotland as well,” Cascarino said.

“Steve Clarke in midweek spoke about him and talked about his leadership qualities. I think he has grown.”

Robertson will be vital to Arne Slot

There are some players in this Liverpool team who new manager Arne Slot will no doubt be looking towards to help him settle in as Reds boss.

The likes of Van Dijk, Alisson, and Mohamed Salah will be seen as crucial senior players who should be able to help Slot make a smooth transition to Anfield.

However, a player like Andy Robertson is also going to be massive for the new Reds boss.

The Scot plays with an attitude and temperament that very much demonstrates what everyone at Anfield loved about the Jurgen Klopp era.

Robertson, then, will be vital for Slot and Liverpool in the next six months.

Hopefully, the full-back has a great Euros with Scotland and then comes back next season ready to put his injury problems behind him and do the business.
