Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen faces an uncertain future, but he knows what he does not want.
When Manchester United signed Christian Eriksen on a free transfer in summer 2022, it was hailed as one of the smartest deals of the summer.
Once he had Casemiro alongside him, Eriksen began looking like one of the Premier League’s best midfielders, forging a winning partnership with the Brazilian in Erik ten Hag‘s new look midfield.
He was then scythed down by Andy Carroll in a FA Cup clash, and since returning he has not looked like quite the same player.
Eriksen was an unused substitute in the recent FA Cup Final win, and his time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.

Christian Eriksen heading for exit
Christian Eriksen’s role was vastly reduced during the 2023/24 season. This was expected afterMason Mount‘s arrival, but even with the former Chelsea midfielder’s injury struggles, Eriksen did not see an upswing in game time.
Eriksen started only 12 Premier League matches, his final one being the 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace.
While he still possesses quality with the ball at his feet, United were frequently overrun when Eriksen was in the starting line-up.
In 2024, Eriksen started only four games in all competitions, winning one, drawing two and losing one.
Now 32, he is becoming surplus to requirements and United are expected to cash in if the offer is right.
Christian Eriksen not interested in Saudi Pro League
Christian Eriksen could raise his profile with Denmark at Euro 2024, and the topic of his future is a talking point in his homeland.
In an interview with Bold, Eriksen says one destination he is automatically rejecting is the Saudi Pro League.
He explained: “I have never received an offer, and I have made sure that it has never been approached.
“If my agent has said something, I’ve always said that I don’t even want to know what it is, because it’s not something that interests me.”
Asked if a deal could happen in the future, he gave a simple response: “No.”
Explaining his stance, he added: “I understand that it can be really difficult to say no if you see how much money is involved, but I just try to avoid it completely so that I don’t get to know how much it could be.”
Eriksen has one year remaining on his Manchester United contract.
His stance may disappoint United, who could likely get a higher fee from Saudi clubs than any other interested suitor – but if Eriksen is not interested, a deal is a non-starter.
