Exclusive: Everton interested in signing 'one of the best strikers in the world' to replace Calvert-Lewin

Everton have now identified a potential replacement for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin who they are increasingly concerned about losing this summer.

Sean Dyche is operating with a restricted budget right now, and Everton’s recruitment team will need to be somewhat creative to improve their squad before the start of next season.

TBR Football recently shared that Everton were considering a move for Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who is still set to leave Fulham as a free agent at the end of the month.

Any move would be intended to help replace Jack Harrison and Arnaut Danjuma next season, who have now both returned to their parent clubs.

The club are becoming increasingly concerned over Calvert-Lewin’s future, and TBR understands that Everton are struggling to finalise a new contract with the striker who has just 12-months left on his deal – meaning a departure is likely.

And as a result, Everton are now looking closely at Abraham’s situation at Roma.

Everton lining up move for Roma’s Tammy Abraham amid Dominic Calvert-Lewin fears

Abraham is understood to be open to moving back to England this summer and a host of clubs are keen on a move.

Abraham, hailed as ‘one the best strikers in the world’ by his Roma teammate Lorenzo Pellegrini, returned at the end of last season following a knee injury which saw him miss almost the entire Serie A campaign.

Still only 26-years-old, Everton are looking at a move for Abraham – fully aware of the need to give Dyche more options up top should Calvert-Lewin leave.

Everton’s financial issues mean the club have a restricted budget right now, but the possibility of Roma loaning Abraham means the Toffees are interested.

Roma want a permanent deal, but following Abraham’s injury they are believed to be open to the idea of a loan with an option.

However, Everton are not the only interested party, as TBR is told a host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Newcastle are also keeping informed about his situation.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja, who could be available on loan, is also a player of interest for Everton right now.
