Everton’s Fan Advisory Board has just sent a list of demands to all prospective takeover bidders

Everton’s ongoing takeover saga is one which has spanned nearly 11 months now, however it has largely been dominated by one party.

For the bulk of the last Premier League season, it only ever felt like 777 Partners were interested in the club, and therefore would surely get into power.

After all, Farhad Moshiri no longer wanted to be there, clearly, and he was willing to give up and move on to seemingly the first serious bidder that had emerged.

However, having seen the Miami-based firm once again fail to meet the necessary requirements, a whole host of new parties have emerged to turn this into quite the bidding war.

So, ahead of what promises to be a transformative summer, the club’s Fan Advisory Board has chosen to issue a statement.

Everton’s Fan Advisory Board speaks up on takeover situation

Taking to X, their new message was one born of fear for how Moshiri might handle this situation when picking the next owners of Everton.

After all, his insistence on selling to 777 Partners, a wholly unfit institution, has sent alarm bells ringing.

As such, they address ‘any bidder wishing to take ownership of Everton Football Club’ and outline a series of key considerations.

Some of these include ensuring that the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium remains on track, aligning with the club’s long and storied history, and providing open and honest communication with the fanbase, to name just a few.

The latter in particular is one that Moshiri regularly failed to do, and must be rectified in the new regime.

Everton’s new owners have a job on their hands

Whoever is chosen by Moshiri to take the reins at Everton has an almighty task on their hands, and that is likely why the Fan Advisory Board has chosen to publish such a statement.

Especially after the debacle involving 777 Partners, which showcased that the Iranian might not have the club’s best interests at heart, but rather a burning and immediate desire to move on from Merseyside.

Fortunately, with a whole host of options to now choose from, he has the task of selecting the best new custodians for this fine football club, to hopefully take the mess he has created and forge a brighter, more sustainable future.

It will not be easy to achieve such a task, and hopefully this impassioned message, which was needed, reaches the required audience.

After all, it outlines what it means to be involved with a club like Everton, and what the club demands after so many years of regression.

And, crucially, it should act as a warning to those unprepared to do the hard work. This will be no easy task, but the rewards for returning the Toffees to the top of English football could be limitless.
