Report: Vincent Kompany could unintentionally help Man City sign one Bayern star this summer

It has been reported that Vincent Kompany could unintentionally help Manchester City sign one player from Bayern Munich.

Despite Vincent Kompany’s affinity towards Manchester City, his focus at the Allianz Arena will not be his former club.

Instead, the Belgian would be aiming to cement his reputation as one of Europe’s finest young managers.

Kompany could unintentionally help Man City sign 29-year-old Bayern player

Kompany would also be hoping to lead Bayern back to the top, mainly by winning the Bundesliga and also the DFB-Pokal for the first time since 2020.

The German giants had their most underwhelming season in recent memory in Thomas Tuchel’s first and only full campaign at the club.

GIVEMESPORT have claimed that with an inexperienced manager like Vincent Kompany joining Bayern, Manchester City-linked right-back Joshua Kimmich has “cold feet.”

The Champions League winner wishes to play under a world-class manager with a proven track record of winning.

Previously, City chiefs were unsure whether they would be able to sign Kimmich as they felt Bayern would appoint a top manager to replace Tuchel.

The report claims that the German international’s representatives believe the Etihad Stadium would be a viable destination for their client. However, they wanted more clarity on Pep Guardiola’s future, who Manchester City would ideally like to decide whether he wishes to extend his contract or leave the club by Christmas.

Furthermore, it is claimed that the Bavarian giants have made the versatile defender available to sign for interested clubs and now City have to decide whether they intend to secure his services this summer.

Man City should steer clear of signing Joshua Kimmich

In our view, even if Joshua Kimmich decides to leave Bayern due to his reported hesitation about working with Vincent Kompany, Manchester City should pass up on the chance of signing him.

The former RB Leipzig technician turns 30 in February next year.

City should be making signings, like they tend to who can help them build for the future, such as Gvardiol and Doku; who signed as 21-year-olds last summer.

As a result, Manchester City should not take advantage of the situation and let Vincent Kompany continue working with Joshua Kimmich.

However, if the English giants believe Kimmich can play at the elite level for around four to five more years, the case for signing him strengthens.
