Pep Guardiola now gives four-word response when asked if he will ever manage Barcelona again

Pep Guardiola has revealed whether he will manage Barcelona again in his career.

With Pep Guardiola’s contract at Manchester City set to expire in 2025, perhaps some would expect him to make a return to his boyhood club.

The £378,846-a-week man first made his name at Barcelona and was propelled into the discussion of being one of the best managers in the world.

Guardiola reveals whether he will make Barcelona return one day

Despite the Catalan tactician’s trophy-laden spell at the club, he only spent four years at Barcelona.

With the Spanish side struggling to become the heavyweights they once were, there would perhaps be no better appointment in the future than Guardiola — whose return could propel them to their past heights.

However, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has ruled out a return to Barcelona.

As shared by journalist Victor Navarro, he was asked: “Is the door closed to coaching Barça in the future?”

Guardiola replied: “Yes, it is closed.”

Pep Guardiola will likely aim to explore a new challenge

As per a report in May, a source close to Pep Guardiola believes that after his time at Manchester City comes to an end, he will bid farewell to club management.

The report claimed that it is believed that the two-time treble-winning manager dreams of managing an international team at a major tournament next.

In the same month, it was claimed that Guardiola will spend the next couple of months before the 2024/2025 season deciding whether he aims to extend his contract at City.

It seems like Pep Guardiola has two options on the table: prolonging his stay at Manchester City or managing an international team; ruling out a return to Barcelona.

Having conquered club football, the decorated manager does not seem too intrigued by the prospect of managing another team, in our view; even though he has yet to manage in Ligue 1 or Serie A.

As a result, a return to the Catalan giants seems highly unlikely for Guardiola at this moment in time, especially with his future at the Etihad Stadium still being undecided.
