After starting the season with four successive defeats, Newark Ransome and Marles are now toasting back-to-back victories.
They won their first match of the South Nottinghamshire League Division B season last weekend with a four-wicket home success over Calverton.
And they repeated that feat on Saturday by beating Ruddington by the same margin to boost their hopes of moving out of the relegation zone.
The hosts had made 214-9 from their 48 overs after batting first with Sonu Charley and Matthew Evans taking two wickets each for Newark.
James Evans made 33 at the top of the Newark order but the visitors looked in trouble when they lost a couple of wickets in quick succession to find themselves 71-5.
However, a 90-run stand for the sixth wicket between Robert Matchett and Harry Cameron brought Newark back into the match.
Matchett made 37 before his departure which brought Matthew Evans out to join Cameron at the crease.
They guided Newark home in the 45th over with an unbroken stand of 54 as Cameron cracked eight boundaries in his 60 not out while Evans was unbeaten on 28 at the close.
Newark's second team are still searching for their first win of the Division H season after losing by the narrowest of margins on Saturday.
They lost by one run at home to Ravenshead after losing their final wicket when they were just short of their victory target.
Oliver Faulkner had taken 3-30 while Nathan Burrows bagged 3-36 as Ravenshead were bowled out for 171 after batting first.
An 88-run stand for the fourth wicket between Jake Harling and Matthew Fiddes then put Newark on the brink of victory.
However, Harling was forced to retire on 57 while Fiddes fell for 33 as Newark lost their next five wickets for 15 runs.
Faulkner was then run out off the final ball of the match as Newark's attempt to tie the game proved in vain.
