Report: £30m Chelsea player could reunite with former manager at new club this summer

One Chelsea player is being eyed by one of his former managers it seems.

Everything is pointing towards there being several exits at Chelsea this summer.

For example, the likes of Armando Broja and Trevoh Chalobah have been linked with moves to other clubs.

Broja is said to be attracting interest from Everton, while Chalobah is thought to be a target for Fulham.

They are in need of a new central defender after watching Tosin Adarabioyo join their west London rivals Chelsea.

Chelsea player has another potential destination this summer

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Everton have been in contact with Chelsea over a potential £30m deal for Broja.

Goodison Park, then, is one place where the 22-year-old could end up this summer.

However, a report from Kicker claims that Wolfsburg are also interested in Broja.

A move there would see the Albania international reunite with former manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The two worked with each other at Southampton back in the 2021/22 season, with Broja going on to make 38 appearances under the Austrian.

Ralph Hasenhuttl could revive Armando Broja

The last two seasons have not gone well for Broja.

He spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Fulham, where he failed to make a single start, and the season before that he picked up a serious injury that saw him miss so much football.

Broja’s best year in English football came at Southampton under Hasenhuttl, with the Chelsea academy graduate managing to score nine goals for the Saints.

If someone can get Broja up and running again after a couple of difficult seasons, then that man is likely to be Hasenhuttl.

The only problem is that Wolfsburg may not be able to pay £30m for Broja. It is probably going to have to be a loan deal, which Chelsea may not be up for as they try to move the striker on permanently this summer.
