'My latest understanding': Premier League club really like £30m Chelsea player - Fabrizio Romano

The board at one Premier League club really seem to appreciate a Chelsea player.

Chelsea look likely to sell several members of their squad this summer based on speculation.

The likes of Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah have all been linked with moves to other clubs, for example.

It means the Blues could be in for a very busy transfer window, already bringing in Tosin Adarabioyo.

The central defender joined from west London rivals Fulham on a free transfer last week.

Premier League club interested in Chelsea man

Broja spent the second half of last season out on loan at Fulham but did not have the most productive spell there.

Under Marco Silva, the striker failed to make a single start.

Nevertheless, Everton are still interested in Broja and the club’s board are fans of the player, according to the reliable Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer expert said: “We also know there will be outgoings at Chelsea this summer, and one player to keep an eye on is Armando Broja, who has been linked with Everton, among others, but what’s really going on?”

“My latest understanding is that the Everton board like Broja but with their financial situation, it’s all on stand-by now. It’s not something imminent or close, interest is there as well as from many other clubs as Broja is 100% expected to leave Chelsea on a permanent transfer this summer.”

According to the Daily Express, he could cost £30m.

Why are Everton fans of Armando Broja?

Broja was not able to do much at Fulham last season, but he is a striker with quite a bit of Premier League experience now.

He has obviously played for Chelsea and had a successful loan spell at Southampton back in the 2021/22 campaign.

There, the Albania international made 38 appearances and scored nine goals in all competitions.

At 6ft 3in, Broja also has the height of a Premier League forward.

Broja has not really had a prolific campaign in England yet, though injuries have limited the amount of games he has been able to play. However, the Chelsea academy graduate is still only 22. He has time to improve there.
