Report: West Ham could sign another forward as Steidten makes 2nd offer after rejected £15m bid

West Ham United are making one more attempt to sign yet another Brazilian forward this summer it seems.

Julen Lopetegui clearly wants to strengthen his attacking options at West Ham in the summer transfer window.

It is believed that that is in fact one of the Spaniard’s two main priorities at the London Stadium this summer.

It’s no surprise really is it. Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals were allowed to leave in the January transfer window, and neither was replaced.

Lopetegui needs to add more pace and variation to his front-line, if he is to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium.

And judging by the latest round of reports, the 57-year-old West Ham boss is going in very hard in his attacker search this summer…

West Ham to make second bid for forward

Lopetegui is being relentless in his search for attacking reinforcements, as is director of football Tim Steidten.

Whilst one Hammers deal appears to be on the verge of completion, another one could swiftly follow.

According to a report from Goal Brasil, West Ham are set to make a £17 million offer for Wesley Gassova – one that will probably be accepted by Corinthians.

The Hammers made a £15 million bid for his signature last month, and have since moved on to another target – Luis Guilherme.

The 18-year-old is currently undergoing his medical ahead of a move to the London Stadium this summer, but the Hammers are seemingly not finished there.

There could be two Brazilian teenagers en route to the London Stadium.

Whilst Wesley Gassova and Luis Guilherme are unknown quantities in the Premier League, they would still be tremendously exciting additions for West Ham.

Whether £17 million is enough to get the signing over the line for the 19-year-old Corinthians starlet remains to be seen though.
