What Prince William has now given Crystal Palace quartet ahead of UEFA EURO 2024

Prince William has presented Marc Guehi, Ebere Eze, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson with a special gift as the Crystal Palace quartet prepare for UEFA EURO 2024.

The four England internationals have now jetted off to Germany with Gareth Southgate and the other 22 players in his squad – as the Three Lions aim to win a European Championship for the first time.

So, what did Crystal Palace stars Marc Guehi, Ebere Eze, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson receive from Prince William? Let’s take a look…

What Prince William gave Marc Guehi, Ebere Eze, Adam Wharton and Dean Henderson

As President of the Football Association, Prince William was present as the England squad said their goodbyes at St George’s Park.

Before the Three Lions headed to the airport, they were handed a special box from the 41-year-old to commemorate their inclusion in Southgate’s squad.

Within the box, the likes of Eze, Henderson, Wharton and Guehi would have seen their own England shirts – complete with name and number – along with a history of that number and the players to have previously worn it.

The box also contained a grassroots origin story card – the likes of which England have been teasing on X (previously known as Twitter) since the squad was named.

Interestingly, Henderson’s box will include the name of Sam Johnstone – who wore the same No.23 shirt for England at UEFA EURO 2020.

Great experience for the Crystal Palace quartet

Whatever happens in Germany, Eze, Wharton, Guehi and Henderson are sure to return to Selhurst Park better for it.

None of the four have taken part in a major international tournament before, so the special experience will surely stand them in good stead ahead of next season – even if things go badly.

Even if they fail to receive much game time, simply training with 22 of the best players in the country for a month is bound to improve the Crystal Palace quartet as footballers.

Let’s just hope the likes of Harry Kane are not tapping up Wharton – amid interest from Bayern Munich in the Crystal Palace No.20 this summer.

By the sounds of it, the England captain has already started to get close to the £22m man…
