‘Do not want to lose him’: Chelsea desperate to keep hold of youngster who wants to leave this summer

Chelsea are reportedly now absolutely desperate to keep hold of one young player this summer despite the fact he is keen to leave the club.

It has been a key element of the time Todd Boehly has spent as the owner of the club for them to snap up some of the top young players in the game before their rival elite clubs.

Arguably the top acquisition up to now has been Kendry Paez, who is not actually going to join up with the first team until next summer.

However, he has already emerged as a regular for the Ecuador national team, recently swapping shirts with Lionel Messi after a game this week.

This signing could well be topped if they secure a deal for Estevao Willian, with it being reported that they areclosing in on that big-money addition.

Rio Ngumoha threatening to leave

This always comes with the fears of alienating some of the talent that is already coming through at Cobham, and this has reportedly begun to happen with Rio Ngumoha.

The teenager has been playing above his years for a while now, and is touted as one of the top talents coming through at his age.

Reports broke recently that the 15-year-old was looking to leave the club, and there was not a shortage of Premier League and European sides who were keen on bringing him in if the opportunity arose.

Chelsea really want to keep Ngumoha

When asked on Twitter, The Secret Scout said the Blues are doing everything they can to keep hold of him.

They said: “Chelsea do not want to lose him and will do their upmost to keep him. For me the key is for him to be treated as an Estevao / Paez.”

Chelsea have a great reputation of being able to develop some of the best players the game has seen, however don’t always do the best job of keeping hold of them. It is crucial that they don’t mess this one up.
