Organisers of a community market, which is steeped in history, have branded its latest offering a great success.
Laxfield Community Market, which is held on the first Saturday of the month between March and November, follows a tradition which goes back in the village to 1226 when it received its charter for markets.
The event, which had 35 stalls on June 1, sold a host of items including breads, cheeses, jams and preserves, crafts and fruit and veg.

Adrian Heard, chairman of the Laxfield Community Market CIC, said: “It was a great success. Our charity stall raised the most so far this year, which is a good gauge of just how well it went.”
The proceeds raised at the markets go back into the community, with the Laxfield Community Market CIC raising more than £8,000 for good causes last year.
Mr Heard said: “A massive thank you to all our stallholders, visitors and helpers — they make the market the success it is.”
