Report: West Ham could complete deal for 'spectacular' player over the next 48 hours

West Ham United have been one of the busier Premier League clubs in terms of transfer activity since the season ended.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a move for Fabricio Bruno, but talks stalled and the move seems to be off at present.

However, West Ham seem to have much more progress in pursuit of a fellow Brazilian talent, and it looks as though a deal is nearly done.

The player in question is Luis Guilherme, who looks set to join the Hammers in wake of heavy speculation over the past week or so.

At the weekend, Fabrizio Romano reported that West Ham were ‘one step away’ from signing the 18-year-old midfielder.

Now, GiveMeSport have provided a timescale with regards to when the Hammers could actually complete a deal for Guilherme.

The report claims that a medical for Guilherme is scheduled on Wednesday, and a deal ‘could be rubber-stamped between Palmeiras and West Ham by Thursday’.

GiveMeSport sources apparently described the talks for the £25million player as a ‘rollercoaster’.

However, they also claimed that Guilherme is now in England and there have been ‘little to no problems thus far’.

Who is West Ham target Luis Guilherme?

Luis Guilherme has risen through the Palmeiras ranks, breaking into the first-team last year and making a huge impact at just 18 years of age.

He has made 44 competitive senior appearances to date for Palmeiras and looks like he could be one of the next standout talents out of Brazil.

In 2022, Football Talent Scout‘s Jacek Kulig wrote an in-depth scouting report about Guilherme, giving him a 9 out of 10 rating in terms of his potential.

Kulig also deemed him a “highly technical and creative player” who’s “extremely dangerous on the counter” and a “spectacular dribbler”.

Based on GiveMeSport’s report, if everything goes well, we should hopefully have an announcement before the weekend.
