Tottenham are big admirers of ‘excellent’ Premier League striker, Daniel Levy knows this would be expensive

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in one of the Premier League’s most exciting strikers this summer but are aware of how difficult a deal would be.

Ange Postecoglou‘s first campaign in charge of Tottenham provided a lot of optimism for what is to come during his time at the club.

However, there has been one area that remains of concern going into the summer transfer window and that is up top.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium lost one of the greatest players in the club’s history last summer when Harry Kane was sold to Bayern Munich.

Replacing the England captain was never going to be an easy task, but Daniel Levy and co are going into this summer looking to do just that.

But there is one player who Spurs remain huge admirers of this summer having seen first hand just what he is capable of producing in the Premier League.

Spurs remain big admirers of Premier League striker

Tottenham are said to have a six-man list of striker targets going into this summer’s transfer window as they look to find their Kane successor.

Two of those said strikers currently play in the Premier League in Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke.

However, there is another player who Spurs are big admirers of having seen him find the back of the net four times in his three appearances against the Lilywhites.

That player is Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham are big admirers of the Sweden international going into the summer window.

But the club are all too aware of just how difficult a deal for Isak would be following his dazzling stint on Tyneside so far.

Having only signed for the Toon two years ago, Isak has already established himself as one of the most exciting strikers in the league with a return of 35 goals in 67 appearances.

What Eddie Howe has said about selling Alexander Isak

Going into the summer transfer window, Newcastle are one of the club’s who are in need of selling players before the PSR deadline at the end of the month.

However, Howe has insisted the club will not be looking to sell players like Isak and Bruno Guimaraes over the coming months.

“I’m planning for them to be here. Yes, all my planning is with them in the squad,” Howe told BBC Sport last month.

And it is no surprise Newcastle don’t want to let him go easily with 21 goals in the league to his name alone last season.

The Premier League’s record goalscorer Alan Shearer is a huge fan of Isak having hailed him “excellent” and he is a player who would certainly improve Tottenham’s frontline, but it would be a deal which would shatter the club’s transfer record.
