Tottenham informed ‘unbelievable’ transfer target has a £60m release clause this summer

Tottenham Hotspur have now been informed they are going to have to cough up £60m this summer if they are to land one of their targets.

A busy transfer window awaits Tottenham with Ange Postecoglou already admitting he is looking to bring in further attacking additions.

Timo Werner has already been added to the squad for the 2024/25 campaign after Spurs secured his signature on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig.

But Spurs will not be stopping there with an understanding that Tottenham will continue to search the market for further attacking players.

There are several players being linked with a potential move to north London as Tottenham also scour the market for a new striker.

The Lilywhites have now been informed it is going to take a serious chunk of money to bring one of their top attacking targets to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Tottenham informed of £60m release clause for attacking target

Postecoglou’s first season as the Tottenham manager provided its ups and downs with the opening 10 games of the term seeing Spurs stun the league.

However, as the season wore on and injuries were picked up, the Tottenham attack really began to falter with the likes of Heung-min Son bearing the responsibility in front of goal.

With injuries to the likes of Richarlison and James Maddison over the season, it is clear Postecoglou needs stronger depth with a season in Europe coming up.

And with that, Spurs have shown an interest in the Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze ahead of the summer window.

According to the Daily Mail, the Palace forward has a release clause of £60m this summer with a potential £8m following in performance-based add-ons.

The report claims it is not just Tottenham interested in the 25-year-old this summer with a number of Premier League sides also keen.

Palace will face a stern challenge in keeping a number of their star players this summer with interest building on the back of their stunning turnaround under Oliver Glasner.

Tottenham could land perfect alternative to James Maddison in Eberechi Eze

There is no doubting Maddison had his issues in the second half of the season after missing three months with an ankle injury.

Despite struggling for form, Postecoglou kept Maddison in the side for the large majority of the season with the Australian not convinced by his options.

In Eze, Spurs could have the perfect, versatile option to come into Postecoglou’s squad this summer with the Englishman playing both behind the striker and on the wing.

Eze’s Palace teammate Joachim Andersen has already hailed the 25-year-old as “unbelievable” as he returned 11 goals and four assists in the Premier League alone.

The irony comes in Eze having recently kept Maddison out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros as Spurs look to add him as an option to bolster their side.
