Clarence Seedorf says Kobbie Mainoo has one quality he never did, makes bold prediction

Kobbie Mainoo has drawn comparisons to legendary midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who has commented on the comparisons.

Since his breakthrough into the first team at Manchester United, the 19-year-old maestro Kobbie Mainoo has been a revelation and arguably among Erik ten Hag‘s best players.

From his full debut onwards he was an irreplaceable part of the first-team squad at Old Trafford and this summer he’s one player the club will be building around.

In his short seven months as a senior player, Mainoo has already proven himself very capable and drawn comparisons to some of the game’s most impressive midfielders in history.

Now, Clarence Seedorf has had his say on Mainoo and even admitted that the teenager has one thing that he never did as a player.

Clarence Seedorf has his say on Kobbie Mainoo

Seedorf is widely considered one of the best midfielders of this century, and comparisons between him and Mainoo have been levelled since the Englishman’s full debut.

Speaking to FIVE UK, Seedorf was talking about Mainoo, giving his verdict on the talented midfielder.

“He reminds me of a young me”, Seedorf explained while discussing Mainoo.

“With his body and movement, but the thing that he has that I never did is his maturity on the ball at such a young age, sky is the limit for him.”

Mainoo’s maturity on the ball is one of his biggest talents and he’s shown it at every level he’s played thus far, including the FA Cup final.

Mainoo’s maturity on the ball will only improve

At times during the 2023/24 season, it looked as though Mainoo was the most experienced player on the pitch as his composure regularly shone brightly.

This is something that will only continue as he grows as a player and a person, and also when he has a midfield partner who is equally as brilliant.

This could come in the form of Joao Neves, a move which arguably would give United a midfield consisting of the two best midfield prospects in world football, and both are already at a level to start.

A special, special talent and this latest heap of praise just continues to prove that point is true.
