'Inspired': National media blown away by £60m Arsenal target who scored and grabbed two assists last night

An attacking talent recently linked with a move to Arsenal was in ‘inspired’ form for his country in a 4-0 win on Tuesday evening.

Once again, Mikel Arteta has a considerable war chest available to him this summer, with Arsenal looking to improve their squad depth.

Although Arteta’s record-breaking team were almost faultless across the campaign, they ultimately prevailed trophyless.

And in review of the season, many feel as if Arsenal simply didn’t rotate their squad enough, with mental and physical fatigue playing a role in key defeats to Aston Villa.

Arteta doesn’t have a small squad, but it seems that his cohort of players that he trusts week in, week out, barely stretches beyond his first eleven.

Perhaps that’s best demonstrated by William Saliba playing every single Premier League minute.

Saliba coped well, given he is a world-class player both mentally and physically, but it still feels unsustainable.

And to add quality in attacking areas, perhaps Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov could be the perfect addition for Arsenal.

Arsenal target Georgiy Sudakov scores and provides two assists in Ukraine’s 4-0 win

21-year-old Sudakov has been linked with a £60m move to Arsenal this summer, a player watched by a host of Premier League clubs.

And despite international teammate Mykhaylo Mudryk warning Sudakov against a move to England this summer, it certainly doesn’t seem impossible.

That being said, whilst playing with Mudryk for Ukraine on Tuesday, Sudakov enjoyed a confidence-building performance ahead of Euro 2024.

Sudakov started as Ukraine’s number 10 and delivered an ‘inspired’ display in the middle.

Local Ukrainian source Football.ua reviewed the performance shortly after the game, handing Sudakov a 8/10 and a complementary write up.

Translated from Ukrainian, they wrote: “Goal and two assists. Even against an opponent of the level of modern Moldova, this is a very high performance.

“Sudakov played inspired this evening, inspiring his partners around him with what he did.

“It remains only to wait for the moment when there will be even more matches ahead of us, and then Georgiy may have many more such bright matches.”

Sudakov and his Ukraine teammates will face Romania, Slovakia and Belgium in the group stage of Euro 2024.

Of course, Sudakov will be playing alongside Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko at the tournament.

And although Sudakov could be a potential arrival in north London, Arsenal have now told Zinchenko that he’s free to leave this summer.
