‘Sneaky feeling’: Journalist genuinely believes that West Ham will try to sign £45m player now

West Ham United, for what feels like the 10 transfer window in a row, need a striker.

The Hammers, somehow, still don’t have that top-class centre-forward to lead their line, and they are, once again, being linked with a whole host of new centre-forwards.

Tammy Abraham is being linked with a move to the London Stadium at the moment, and speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Dean Jones has now addressed these rumours.

Jones says that he doesn’t have any direct information on Abraham’s links to West Ham, but he is led to believe that Ivan Toney could be someone the Hammers go after.

West Ham could go for Ivan Toney

Jones says that he has a sneaky feeling that West Ham could go for Toney.

“I don’t have any direct information on that one, it is plausible and I can see Tammy Abraham coming back to the Premier League. West Ham try so many things as we all know, let’s wait and see. I have a sneaky feeling that West Ham will go for Ivan Toney if nobody goes for that one anytime soon. Keep your eyes open on that one,” Jones said.

Ivan Toney could be perfect for West Ham

After years of searching, West Ham could finally have the perfect striker in their sights here.

Premier League proven, clinical and good at linking play, Toney is exactly the type of striker West Ham need.

Of course, as Jones says, this situation may only open up for the Hammers if nobody else goes for Toney, and given how good the England international has been in recent years, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if one of the Premier League’s big six do have a sniff at signing Toney.

West Ham are worth keeping an eye on, but a move to a team playing in Europe next season could be on the cards for the striker.
