Jack Wilshere decides who he thinks is better - Kevin De Bruyne or Jude Bellingham

Jack Wilshere has shared his verdict on who he feels is better out of Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and Jude Bellingham.

Throughout his playing career, Wilshere racked up 182 Premier League appearances, as well as featuring in 22 Champions League matches and 34 for the senior England national team.

With that in mind, it’s clear that having played with and alongside a wide range of top-level players, the 32-year-old certainly knows what it takes to be a significant midfielder.

Now though, the Englishman, who is now coaching Arsenal’s U18s, has shared his thoughts on three of the biggest midfield players in the game right now.

Jack Wilshere ranks Jude Bellingham and Kevin De Bruyne

The former Arsenal and West Ham United player featured in a recent video shared on Goal’s TikTok channel and was asked to rank De Bruyne, Bellingham and Bruno Fernandes from best to worst.

In response, Wilshere put Fernandes last and then chose to put Bellingham ahead of De Bruyne, who Alan Shearer recently said would be his dream teammate.

De Bruyne and Bellingham are top midfielders

At the age of 20, Bellingham has scored 51 goals and delivered 40 assists in 218 senior club appearances, winning four major titles in the process.

In comparison, De Bruyne (32) has found the back of the net 149 times and provided 254 assists in 611 games, winning many trophies along the way including six Premier League titles with City.

Despite spending a large chunk of the most recent season out injured, the Belgian still managed to score four goals and deliver 10 assists in 18 Premier League appearances.

In fact, the City star ended the campaign with the highest rate of shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (7.36) and goal-creating actions per 90 minutes (1.18) in the entire division.

While the two midfielders are at different stages of their individual careers, it feels that recency bias towards Bellingham, who won La Liga and the Champions League in his first season at Real Madrid, could be why Wilshere has ranked him above De Bruyne.
