Report: Three clubs are now trying to sign Crystal Palace player, one is ready to offer £60m

The race to sign Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is heating up as the summer transfer window prepares to open.

Crystal Palace are facing a potential exit for Michael Olise this summer as teams show interest in a move for the star forward.

The 22-year-old has caught the attention of many with his impressive performances at Selhurst Park, especially under Oliver Glasner.

Since arriving as Crystal Palace boss, Glasner has managed to implement a style of play that suits his adventurous attacking players, not least Olise – who bagged ten goals and six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances last season.

His impressive strikes from range, dynamic ability on the ball and his age all play a role in making him highly sought after this summer.

There are reports surrounding a release clause as well as three teams making contact over a transfer for Olise once the window opens.

Chelsea, Newcastle and Bayern Munich make contact for Michael Olise transfer

With the transfer window opening soon, teams have started to put in the groundwork towards a potential deal for Olise.

According to The Athletic, Premier League sides Chelsea and Newcastle are joined by Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich in making contact with Crystal Palace for the winger.

All three sides are believed to have sought permission from the club to speak with the representatives of Olise, with the Blues amongst those willing to land him.

There is a release clause that is part of the 22-year-old’s contract, which is claimed to be worth roughly £60million.

While usually, a club would be able to trigger that without any negotiations, the report adds that teams have been advised to contact Palace first before entering talks with his camp.

It follows a saga last summer where Chelsea pushed to land Olise, who eventually decided to stay at Selhurst Park, signing a new deal.

This summer will see his future brought into question again though, with even more teams circling a potential deal.

Michael Olise release clause impact

The use of a release clause will likely frustrate fans, but when it comes to getting a deal done, it plays a huge role in knowing how a move will play out.

Olise’s potential move early in the window could be impacted by several factors, with the release clause being one of those that brings certainty surrounding a transfer fee for his services.

On top of that is the fact that the Palace star isn’t featuring at Euro 2024 for England or France – but he could be representing the latter at the Olympics in late July after being included in the provisional squad.

The fact that he has a guaranteed fee, will be free for most of the summer and has plenty of his career ahead of him, makes him an ideal target for clubs.

It would be a shame for the Eagles to lose out on such a talent, especially given just the glimpse of him under Glasner so far, however, the model is built on successful incomings and outgoings.

If Olise leaves for a massive profit, then it’s time to look towards the transfer market for the “next Olise” out there.
