Video: Rodrigo Gomes meets his first Wolves teammate at Compton, and fans will love his training kit reaction

Rodrigo Gomes was officially announced as a new Wolves player on Wednesday – and today the club have released some behind-the-scenes footage of his first day at Compton.

Rodrigo has become the club’s second addition of the summer, after Tommy Doyle turned his loan move from Manchester City permanent.

Rodrigo joins for £12.7 million, signing a five-year contract.

It is a signing that many Wolves fans are excited about. Rodrigo was one of the best young players in Portugal last season, and Gary O’Neil has already branded him a ‘perfect’ signing.

Fans can’t wait to see him in action, and this evening, they have the chance to see what he’s like away from the pitch.

The club have put out a new video of him at the training ground when he went for his medical earlier this week – and despite it being the off-season, he did actually meet one of his new teammates.

Rodrigo completed his medical at Wolves on Tuesday, and was then announced officially by the club on Wednesday evening.

The 20-year-old is really excited to get going in the Premier League, and feels it is the best in the world.

Sporting director Matt Hobbs is also delighted about the move, and has suggested Wolves fans can expect to see him playing on either side of the pitch.

As is common practice for the club, a video of Rodrigo’s first ever day at Compton has now been released – and the youngster comes across very well.

And at one point, he meets his first new teammate.

Sasa Kalajdzic, who suffered another ACL injury back in January while on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, came into the dressing room as the starlet was being shown around. The striker instantly made the youngster feel welcome.

Kalajdzic was dressed in his training kit, suggested he has been continuing his rehab.

Rodrigo then donned the same training kit and gave a reaction which is sure to go down well. ‘It’s beautiful’, he said.

Rodrigo will fit in brilliantly

These videos are always really interesting as they provide insight into their personality and character.

Obviously it was Rodrigo’s first day at Compton and there was a lot of information being fed to him, but even despite that he was very engaging and looked genuinely delighted to be there.

He seems humble and has good people around him.

It looks like he could be a really good fit at Wolves.

Obviously, there is already a strong Portuguese contingent at the club, and there are also a couple of Brazilians too.

Hopefully, he will be able to settle really quickly – Wolves getting him through the door nice and early will be key to that.
