‘100% on track’: Chelsea believe they will make £55m signing in the next few days – Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are confident that they are just a few days away from securing a big transfer.

The Blues are expected to be busy in this window in an attempt to give adequate backing to new manager Enzo Maresca.

They are already well on their way to this following the confirmed signing of Tosin Adarabioyo on a free, as reports linking them to Michael Olise gain traction too.

However, the club have by no means abandoned their strategy of bringing in the top young players in world football ahead of their rivals.

One of those mentioned this summer has been Estevao Willian, who is already being compared to a young Lionel Messi and tipped to become one of the best in the world.

Chelsea expect to sign Estevao in the coming days

Romano took to Twitter to state that everything was moving in the right direction as far as Chelsea were concerned, and they believe it is a matter of days until this one is confirmed.

He said: “Two assists for Willian Estevão with Palmeiras last night… and plan to join Chelsea remains 100% on track.

“Chelsea and Palmeiras still checking all documents, all parties believe just matter of days before deal signed.€40m fixed, €25m add-ons and here we go confirmed.”

Despite the fact the Blues have added a number of the most promising players in world football, they may be trumped if Estevao lives up to the expectations placed on him.

So far the number one signing in this department has been Kendry Paez, who has already established himself as a regular for the Ecuador national team alongside Moises Caicedo.

He will be hoping to shine at this summer’s Copa America ahead of his move to Chelsea which is set to take place next summer.

Andrey Santos was another top talent brought in, and he is reportedly being lined up for a role with the first team as early as next season.
