Taylor Swift confirms Eras Tour will end this year - 'That's it'

Last night was the 100th night of the Eras Tour, and Taylor Swift marked the occasion with an important update about her diary for the rest of the year.

The Eras Tour embarked on Liverpool for night one of a sold-out triple header last night, and it was a special occasion for multiple reasons. Not only was it Taylor Swift‘s first-ever performance in the iconic English city, but Liverpool night one marked the 100th show of the tour thus far. Rather than mark this milestone by announcing new music or more performances, Taylor made a rather sobering announcement about when the fun will eventually end.

Taylor Swift confirms the Eras Tour will end in December

Each night on the Eras Tour, Taylor likes to take time to address the adoring crowds at length, typically pausing to give a speech once or twice an evening, thanking fans for spending their time and money coming to see her.

And given the significance of last night’s show, Taylor made an especially long address to the Anfield crowd, as she reflected on how much the tour means to her on night 100.

Breaking the hard-to-hear news about when the Eras Tour will eventually wind up, Taylor said: “I think, you know, a lot of you are like, ‘How are you going to celebrate your 100th show?’ And for me, the celebration of the 100th show means, this is the very first time I’ve acknowledged to myself, and admitted that this tour is going to end in December, like that’s it.”

Describing the toll the lengthy tour has taken on her, Taylor added: “I think that this tour has really become my entire life. Like, it’s become, it’s taken over everything.

“I think I once had hobbies, but I don’t know what they were anymore, because all I do when I’m not onstage is sit at home, and try to think of clever acoustic song mashups, and think about what you might want to hear and just, really, when I’m not on stage, I’m dreaming about being back on the stage with you guys.”

Without leaving the dejected crowd to linger on her words for too long, Taylor concluded her speech by asking the crowd if they had “about 10 minutes to spare”, before launching into the extended version of All Too Well.

‘I lost’ – Swifties reflect on the end of an era

Everybody knows that good things must come to an end, but that didn’t make it any easier for Swifties to hear their idol confirming that the shows will not roll into 2025.

“I lost”, wrote one fan bluntly on Twitter (x):

“When The Eras Tour ends, there will be also a part of me that missing”, wrote a devasted fan, while another pleaded: “I’m begging for just one more show and for it to be in oklahoma.. it’s been 11 years”.

“I’m happy girlie gets a break but sad that this huge part of my last year and this year is ending”, added another crestfallen Swift stan.

Some Taylor fans did seem relieved for their idol, however. “Look don’t get me wrong I adore the Era’s tour, it has been so much fun!” Reflected one Twitter user. “But I’m glad she is ending it in December. She deserves a rest, to get spend more time with her significant other”.

At the time of writing, the Eras Tour is scheduled to conclude on December 8 in Vancouver, with Taylor heading for Canada in mid-November.
