Kate Middleton's popularity is a 'blessing and a curse' as absence fears grow

American commentator Kinsey Schofield says Kate Middleton’s popularity is “both a blessing and a curse” ahead of Trooping the Color event.

Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, is one of the most popular members of the British Royal Family. There was much speculation surrounding her health and potential whereabouts earlier this year, but all rumors were shut down when she announced she had cancer in a video message she made public in March. So far this year she has not performed any royal duties and has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Although understanding she is taking time out of the spotlight for a private recovery, fans have missed seeing her dearly since the diagnosis.

Kate Middleton’s popularity is ‘blessing and a curse’ amid hopes for public appearance

After missing the Colonel’s Review on the weekend of June 8th 2024, Kate Middleton has issued an apology to the Irish Guards and it’s uncertain whether she will make an appearance at the Trooping the Color event on Saturday, June 15th.

Royals traditionally gather on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the event. However, a source told GB News she will appear alongside her fellow royals “only if she is well enough.”

American commentator and royal expert Kinsey Schofield recently made an appearance on GB News addressing her thoughts on the situation: “I think everyone just wants her to feel better and be better, and in this scenario, her popularity is both a blessing and a curse.”

She continued: “We all miss the grace and kindness she brings to the monarchy, but we really have to leave her alone until she’s ready to return herself… but I’m praying for her recovery, and I miss seeing her.”

It’s yet to be confirmed whether Kate will make a public appearance, and confirmation is only likely to arrive shortly before the event proceeds.

Kate Middleton says she is ‘very sorry’ for missing Colonel’s Review

In the wake of missing the Colonel’s Review, the final rehearsal for King Charles‘s Birthday Parade, Kate offered a statement in apology.

“I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire Regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour,” she said, also addressing this weekend’s forthcoming event.

“Being your Colonel remains a great honour,” she added, “and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review. Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I can represent you all once again very soon.”

Signing off by extending her “best wishes and good luck to all involved,” her graciousness was praised by fans who miss her dearly but also wish for nothing more than to see her healthy.
