'I expect': Journalist shares what his sources have told him Arsenal will do after missing out on Sesko

Arsenal aren’t signing Benjamin Sesko this summer.

The RB Leipzig striker has decided to stay in Germany for another season, and that’s left Arsenal with a bit of a conundrum in terms of what they do with a new striker this summer.

The Gunners have been linked with so many striking options this summer, but now, according to James Benge, there’s a chance they don’t even sign a striker in this window.

Indeed, speaking on Inside Arsenal, Benge has stated that his sources have suggested that Arsenal won’t force the matter in terms of searching for a new striker, claiming that the Gunners will happily wait another 12 months if the right opportunity doesn’t crop up.

Arsenal might not sign a striker now

Benge shared what he’s been told about Arsenal after they failed to sign Sesko.

“This is what I expect to happen having spoken to people. I don’t think they will plough into a deal they don’t like the look of just to have a striker,” Benge said.

Even if Nketiah leaves you can rely on Jesus, Trossard and Havertz while waiting it out for next summer whether it is Sesko or if it’s someone else where opportunities emerge in 12 months’ time.”

Arsenal shouldn’t waste their money

Arsenal do need a striker, but there’s no need to waste their money on a player who isn’t right for them.

Yes, a new centre-forward could propel Arsenal to the next level, but after scoring 91 league goals last season, the Gunners showed that their attack can still be deadly without that clinical centre-forward.

The right player could be available next summer – and that could even be Sesko.

Patience is a virtue in football, and Arsenal may be wise to bide their time rather than going out and getting any old player just because they’re available.
