A man was shot in the leg Wednesday night near Kennedy Boulevard, a few blocks from Lincoln Park, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
The shooting occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m. in the area of Oxford Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. Jersey City police officers were flagged down and immediately rendered aid to the 27-year-old victim.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
The shooting is the 14th in the city this year, according to statistics provided in the city website. There were 18 shooting incidents at the same time last year, the statistics show.
