'Ripped to shreds': Roy Keane says one Liverpool Euros star is going to get shown up very soon

The Euros are well underway now and Roy Keane has said that one of Liverpool’s top stars is in danger of being found out.

The Reds have a number of players at the tournament and some have already been in action, as Dominik Szoboszlai saw his Hungary side lose to Switzerland.

Beyond that, Liverpool have a number of players in the England ranks looking to make their mark.

Both Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold have been picked by Gareth Southgate and of those two, Alexander-Arnold is expected to be one of the stars.

However, speaking on ‘Trent’ ahead of the opening game tomorrow night, Roy Keane has suggested England need to be careful where they play him.

Roy Keane shares why Trent Alexander-Arnold cannot play midfield for England

Speaking on ITV ahead of England’s opener with Serbia, Keane once again stressed how he feels Alexander-Arnold will struggle in midfield as the tournament goes on.

“You talk about the defensive side of it. They have players who can win you football matches, but it’s the problem defending against really better teams,” Keane said.

“I think they will be fine in the group. I think Trent will be fine, his position in matches, but against the really top teams, I think he will be found out very much so. I think he will be ripped to shreds if he plays against the better teams in central midfield.”

Trent out to prove a point?

Despite being one of the most talented players in England, there seems to be so much negativity around Alexander-Arnold and how he’ll do for England.

Yes, midfield is not his normal position but he has all the tools to play there and more.

With that, then, these comments from Keane and others will surely inspire him to go out there and prove to everyone that he really is one of the best around.

Keane does make a fair point and as we know, he is one of the best to ever do it in midfield.

But Alexander-Arnold can do it as well and with a bit of luck, he can hopefully prove the doubters wrong.
