Report: Tottenham Hotspur are ready to outbid European giants in race to sign £29m Euro 2024 star

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to outbid European giants in the race to sign a £29m Euro 2024 star, according to a recent report.

The North Londoners enjoyed a season of progression last term, finishing in fifth and thus returning to Europe.

Though, Ange Postecoglou won’t be satisfied until his side return to the illustrious Champions League, so that will be the aim this time around.

To do that, he’ll need investment in the squad and with that said, it seems the club are working hard on a deal to sign a Euro 2024 star.

Tottenham could overtake Juventus in race for Riccardo Calafiori

According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham Hotspur have made contact to sign Riccardo Calafiori in recent hours and could overtake Juventus in the race.

The report further notes that Juventus have an agreement with the Italy international, who prefers to remain in Serie A.

As such, Spurs will find it tricky to land Calafiori over the Turin titans, though, they are willing to outbid them.

The Bologna centre-back, who turned 22 in May, impressed many with his performance against Albania and it seems the North Londoners were put on red alert, too.

Ricardo Calafiori’s price could skyrocket

Spurs won’t want Calafiori to have too good of a tournament, as his rumoured £29m price tag will skyrocket.

Further, that would also prompt more potential suitors to the table, so perhaps that’s why the club are keen to wrap up a deal now.

Italy are well-positioned to advance to the knockout stages after defeating Albania 2-1.
