Tottenham’s first five 2024/25 Premier League fixtures compared to rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United

The 2024/25 Premier League fixtures have been released, with Tottenham among the 20 teams who have found out their schedule for the coming season.

Spurs are preparing for another Premier League campaign, with Ange Postecoglou looking to build on his first season at the helm.

The Lilywhites saw plenty of success – implementing a style of play that captured the imagination and some huge results along the way – but there were some elements to improve on.

Tottenham narrowly missed out on a return to the Champions League after a poor run of form at the latter end of the campaign.

The summer offers a chance to bolster the ranks in the transfer market, with the Tottenham boss looking to add to the foundations he has set.

With the Tottenham fixture list now released for the 2024/25 Premier League season, plans will be put into place for how to approach the campaign.

Spurs will be looking for a quick start over their rivals, so with that said, here’s a look at how the first five fixtures compare.

Tottenham’s first five Premier League fixtures 2024/25

  • Monday, 19th August – Leicester City v Tottenham
  • Saturday, 24th August – Tottenham v Everton
  • Saturday, 31st August – Newcastle United v Tottenham
  • Saturday, 14th – Tottenham v Arsenal
  • Saturday, 21st – Tottenham v Brentford

Tottenham have a relatively challenging start to the Premier League season if they struggle to get some early points on the board.

Away trips to Leicester and Newcastle will be far from easy, while the North London derby clash with Arsenal will throw a few challenges early on.

Equally, if Spurs can grab some early victories, it puts them in good stead once the table starts to take shape.

Chelsea’s first five Premier League fixtures

  • Sunday, 18th August – Chelsea v Manchester City
  • Saturday, 24th August – Wolves v Chelsea
  • Saturday, 31st August – Chelsea v Crystal Palace
  • Saturday, 14th September – Bournemouth v Chelsea
  • Saturday, 21st September – West Ham v Chelsea

Enzo Maresca has a difficult first month as Chelsea boss, with the task of dismantling champions Manchester City before three away games in quick succession.

With the Blues still in a state of transition, it remains to be seen just how quickly their new era can get off the ground.

Arsenal’s first five Premier League fixtures

  • Saturday, 17th August – Arsenal v Wolves
  • Saturday, 24th August – Aston Villa v Arsenal
  • Saturday, 31st August – Arsenal v Brighton
  • Saturday, 14th September – Tottenham v Arsenal
  • Saturday, 21st September – Manchester City v Arsenal

Title challengers Arsenal have a tough start to the season, with matches against established Premier League sides such as Wolves, Aston Villa and Brighton.

Manchester United’s first five Premier League fixtures

  • Friday, 16th August – Manchester United v Fulham
  • Saturday, 24th August – Brighton v Manchester United
  • Saturday, 31st August: Manchester United v Liverpool
  • Saturday, 14th September: Southampton v Manchester United
  • Saturday, 21st September: Crystal Palace v Manchester United

Manchester United are also tasked with an interesting start to the season, after sticking with manager Erik ten Hag.

An early clash with Liverpool will test their resolve, but United could feel confident about their run of matches – though it does include three away trips.

Who has the best start to the Premier League season?

Comparing all of the above, it would appear as though Manchester United have the most favourable run on paper.

Their match with Liverpool will be a challenge, but on paper, they should have the beating of their other opponents – though the past season may have proven that is easier said than done.

Tottenham would come next, with tricky ties against Arsenal and Newcastle holding the potential to throw some early problems at Postecoglou.

Then there’s Chelsea, who have a tricky test against Manchester City, but could soon pick up points and momentum after.

Arsenal have arguably the toughest run of the four teams, facing off against European contenders, rivals and title challengers.
