‘Dangerous’ Euro 2024 star is the perfect Arsenal signing this summer, he could be available - opinion

Although Mikel Arteta will already have targets in mind, Euro 2024 presents the perfect opportunity for Arsenal to enhance their summer transfer plans.

As can be displayed with Arsenal’s early, albeit failed pursuit of Benjamin Sesko, Edu is working diligently behind the scenes to ensure the club aren’t beaten to any targets.

But given all the twists and turns that a transfer window entails, the Euros can be a really useful tool for Arsenal.

On Monday Arsenal’s recruitment department were likely paying particular attention to Ukraine’s performance for example.

Not only because of Oleksandr Zinchenko’s involvement – who really struggled to impress for Ukraine, but also because both Georgiy Sudakov and Andriy Lunin played.

Both Ukrainian talents have been linked with a move to north London, and the tournament provides an excellent opportunity to scrutinise the club’s reports further.

That being said, if Arsenal’s recruitment department were still watching on later in the evening on Monday, they should have noticed an excellent performance in France’s win.

Adrien Rabiot’s ‘magnificent’ France display proves he’s Arsenal’s perfect signing

Whilst it was 33-year-old N’Golo Kante who stole the headlines in midfield, Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot was incredibly impressive alongside.

Rabiot has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal, and his performance in midfield demonstrated exactly why.

Arsenal want a new number eight, and 29-year-old Rabiot would immediately be ready to help compete for silverware in north London.

French outlet L’Equipe, who are notoriously harsh with their match ratings, couldn’t help but describe Rabiot’s display as ‘magnificent’ against a good Austrian side.

Their rating wrote: “To be able to put out such an accomplished performance after spending a month without playing is worthy of a very high class player.

“Everything was there: harassing pressing (5 balls recovered), technical accuracy and a very important role in blocking the left side.

“His pass for the face-to-face Mbappé (55th) in a small space was magnificent.”

Rabiot is considering his future at Juventus

It’s never going to be easy to sign a player of Rabiot’s quality, but the France international could be available this summer.

Juventus have reportedly made a new contract offer to Rabiot recently but ‘no significant progress has been made’.

Rabiot’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month – something that will worry new Juventus coach Thiago Motta.

And whilst nothing is decided, Arsenal could be perfectly placed to make their approach.

Rabiot would form an incredibly imposing midfield alongside Declan Rice at Arsenal, and although a more creative number eight may be needed at times, the ‘dangerous’ Frenchman possesses an incredibly well-rounded skill set.
