Tottenham fans are all saying the same thing after learning 2024/25 Premier League opener vs Leicester City

Tottenham Hotspur will open up their 2024/25 Premier League campaign with an away game against newly-promoted Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou‘s second season in charge of Tottenham will come against a side which the Lilywhites have certainly had their run-ins with over the years.

The north London club will be going into the new campaign with Europa League football to contend with having secured a fifth-placed finish last seaon.

Progression will be on the agenda for Spurs as they enter this summer’s transfer window having already secured the services of Timo Werner for another season.

But as the fixtures for the new campaign have now been released, Spurs fans have been left saying the same thing after finding out who they will be playing first.

Tottenham fans facing away trip to Leicester City

Spurs will end the first game week in the Premier League with a trip to the King Power Stadium on Monday August 19.

And as Postecoglou’s side will have to get used to a quick turnaround will be needed with a game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium scheduled against Everton just five days later.

It is an opening fixture which will provide two players a reunion with their former sides in James Maddison and Harry Winks who switched clubs last summer.

Having opened the 2023/24 campaign up with an away trip to Brentford, Spurs fans have been left saying the same thing after Tuesday’s fixture announcement.

Learning Spurs will be playing away again in the opening game, one fan said, ‘Spurs, away, first day of the season…..I can’t believe it.’ Whilst another simply added, ‘Away on the opening game again.’

And this was a running theme among the Spurs fans with another fan saying, ‘Opening day away game again.’ As some other fan also said, ‘Away again.’

One fan remained positive despite the game being away, adding, ‘It’s the fixture I wanted but…
WHY IS IT ALWAYS AWAY.’ Whilst another fan just said, ‘Away again? Standard.’

Tottenham’s recent history against Leicester City

There have been some memorable victories for Tottenham against the Foxes over the last decade or so.

Here is a rundown of Tottenham’s last five results against Leicester before their relegation to the Championship in the 2022/23 campaign.

The last game between these two sides was one to forget with Rodrigo Bentancur suffering his ACL injury as Pedro Porro made his shaky debut.

Tottenham have come a long way since then, but the Foxes will be looking to make a strong start to their return to the Premier League having bounced back up with their first attempt.
