Exclusive: What Everton have told Leeds during talks for Jack Harrison regarding their takeover

Everton have been pursuing another move for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old joined the Toffees on loan last season, making 35 appearances and registering four goals and three assists.

Now, TBR Football understands that Everton have agreed terms with Leeds over a new loan deal for Harrison.

Leeds did not have Harrison returning to their squad as part of their plans this summer, unlike some of their other loan players such as Brenden Aaronson.

Everton have now moved to agree fresh terms with Leeds and Harrison will once again spend next season on loan at Goodison Park.

Everton tell Leeds they hope to sign Jack Harrison permanently next summer

The Toffees have agreed to cover Harrison’s wages – as they did last season. The winger has four years left on his current deal, which has made a permanent deal very difficult.

However, TBR understands that Everton have told Leeds they would hope to be in a position to agree a permanent deal once their takeover is complete during the season and that if all goes to plan he would join on a permanent basis next summer.

Harrison’s contract at Elland Road runs until the summer of 2028, with the player having made 206 appearances for the Whites since first joining on loan from Manchester City in 2018.

What is the latest on Everton takeover?

Last Friday, AS Roma owner Daniel Friedkin emerged as the new frontrunner in the bid to own Everton.

On Tuesday evening, Tuttomercatoweb reported that Friedkin’s group will pay Toffees majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri €475million (£401million) for his 94.1 per cent holding in the club.

The report claimed that Premier League checks will take just over a month, but ‘in this case it should be an almost obvious approval and a mere accounting check.’
