Report: Leeds player has 'less and less hope' of striking £4m exit despite a gentleman's agreement

Leeds United are busy working out the future of Victor Orta’s loan army with Brenden Aaronson set to play a part next season, but another’s next move remains undecided.

Eight players left Leeds last summer on loan using Orta’s relegation clause to go temporarily following the drop to The Championship. A clause that Daniel Farke has bemoaned, meaning Leeds could not sell.

Robin Koch and Luis Sinisterra have since agreed permanent moves to their loan clubs at Frankfurt and Bournemouth. Aaronson though, has returned to Leeds and will play a key role under Daniel Farke.

Reports on Wednesday state that Jack Harrison will return to Everton on loan next season, with the winger still boasting the same loan clause that prevented Leeds from selling him last summer to The Toffees.

Marc Roca is closing in on a permanent move to Real Betis, but the future of Rasmus Kristensen, Max Wober and Diego Llorente remains undecided. Now, an update from Calcio Mercato on Llorente.

Llorente update amid talks over a permanent Roma move

The 30-year-old Spain international has spent the last 18 months on loan at Roma, clocking up 54 games. Last season, he helped Roma reach the Europa League final before playing more than 40 times last term.

There is a gentleman’s agreement between Leeds, Roma and Llorente to strike a deal while Llorente’s agent met with Roma’s sporting director last week to discuss a deal for Llorente at Roma permanently.

Now, Calcio Mercato state that as time goes on, Llorente has ‘less and less hope’ of striking a permanent move to Roma. The Italian side are still undecided over spending the necessary £4.3m to land him.

Llorente is desperate to join Roma from Leeds permanently

The report says as much, that Llorente wants a move to Roma beyond his loan in order to avoid having to return to Leeds and play in the Championship. He has hinted at a move to Roma on his Instagram.

But now, it is up to Roma whether they want to do a deal for the defender. Llorente wants a move and Leeds are keen to get him off the books, even if it does register a huge £14m loss on the £18m signing.
