Gareth Southgate has four Crystal Palace players in his Euros squad right now but it should have been five.
Four of Selhurst Park‘s finest are in Germany right now with the England squad as the Three Lions look to win a first international crown since 1966.
Having Adam Wharton, Dean Henderson, Ebere Eze and Marc Guehi all in the squad means that Crystal Palace have more than any other team in Gareth Southgate‘s squad.
Remarkably, it could have been more than four, with Michael Olise a player Paul Merson wanted to see called up, but ultimately this wasn’t achievable as Southgate confirmed.
But another who should be there right now is Tyrick Mitchell with his exclusion looking even more baffling by the day.

Heading to Germany this summer England had one glaring weakness with no real fit options at left-back. Southgate brought Luke Shaw and Kieran Trippier for the position.
But Shaw wasn’t fit for months at the end of the season and remains unfit, while Trippier isn’t a natural fit there and is hindering the team.
Now, Mail Sport have reported that England have just been hit with a major blow as Shaw still fails to return to training which is raising massive questions over his fitness and inclusion in the squad.
While when he’s fit Shaw is arguably one of the world’s very best fullbacks, the decision to include a player who could easily now miss the entire group stage looks foolish.
But what looks even worse is that he didn’t include Tyrick Mitchell, who was in superb form for Palace and could make all the difference in this England team.
Tyrick Mitchell could’ve been pivotal for England
Against Serbia, England’s left side was a real weakness, with Trippier and Phil Foden providing a non-existent threat.
But if Mitchell had been called to the Euros he’d have been perfect at left-back both defensively and as he’s shown recently, also offensively.
Having a natural left-footed and also form full-back would balance the team, providing the width which frees up Foden to go inside without compromising the shape.
Southgate will surely be ruing this decision and wishing he’d brought Mitchell to Germany as Shaw’s injury woes continue.
