Justin Timberlake may be crying a river after his mugshot was released to the public last night. The singer was arrested on suspicion of DWI while driving in the Hamptons early Tuesday.
The celebrity is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor and after a short hearing at the village courthouse in Suffolk County, he was released on his own recognizance, meaning he didn’t need to post bail. Justin Timberlake‘s mugshot has now been publicly released, and fans as well as trolls on social media are going one step further by making memes of the Sexy Back hitmaker. His attorney, Ed Burke Jr, has argued Timberlake was only charged because he refused to undergo a breathalyzer.

The 43-year-old ran a stop sign while driving his 2025 BMW, with police claiming he was seen drifting out of his lane. A cop pulled the music star over and determined he was ‘in an intoxicated condition’.
A statement from Sag Harbor village police added: “Mr Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed and held overnight for morning arraignment”.
The New York Post reports a police complaint filed against the recording artist alleged he had slowed speech and ‘one martini’ before he was pulled over.
Justin Timberlake’s mugshot has gone viral on social media, with some fans making jibes about his hit song Cry Me A River over his red eyes.
The track in question, said to be about his split with famous ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, elevated the already famous star back in 2002.
One wrote: “Cry Me A River,” making a swipe at his successful song, while another claimed he looked like Donkey from the Shrek movies from a scene where he teared up.
Others thought the star had been teary following the ordeal from his red and bloodshot eyes.
Fans bring Britney Spears into it
Fans also couldn’t help but bring his ex Britney Spears into the equation, too.
One joked: “I think he’s spiraling, I think he needs a conservatorship.” This is in reference to the 13-year order the singer had to abide by her father Jamie Spears and a lawyer, which following the rise of the Free Britney movement, was revoked in 2022.
The singer released a bombshell memoir last year, where she alleged she became pregnant when dating Justin, and he asked her to get an abortion.
Timberlake later apologized to her, as well as Janet Jackson after their Super Bowl scandal on stage in 2004.
He said in February: “I’ve seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns and I want to respond.
“I am deeply sorry for the times in my life where my actions contributed to the problem, where I spoke out of turn, or did not speak up for what was right.”
“I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others, and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.”
