USF stays hot on the recruiting trail, lands Georgia OT Colin Bellomy

Head coach Alex Golesh and the USF Bulls had a massive official visitor weekend June 14-16 that included 13 prospects, and they’re on a hot streak of commitments coming out of it.

Over the weekend, interior offensive lineman Khalil Collins and safety Jeremiah Jones announced their commitments to the Bulls. On Tuesday night, USF added a pledge from outside linebacker Evan Ward, bring its total commitment count to 11 for the 2025 cycle.

And verbal No. 12 is in. Kennesaw (Ga.) Harrison class of 2025 offensive tackle Colin Bellomy announced his commitment to USF Wednesday afternoon. He also held scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, Memphis, Kansas, Georgia Tech, SMU, Liberty and a handful of others.

“I decided to commit to USF for multiple reasons — the brotherhood in the locker room, the opportunity after football Tampa brings, the coaching staff and their plan to develop me and the relationships me and all the staff has built,” Bellomy told On3 before making his decision public.

Bellomy loved every minute of his USF official visit. It helped push the Bulls over the edge to the point of him wanting to shut down his recruiting process.

“The highlights were seeing the city and the development aspect of the program,” Bellomy added. “I enjoyed hanging out with the players and getting a good feel of the chemistry and brotherhood in the locker room. The campus and facilities are top tier.”

On3 currently lists Bellomy as an EDGE prospect, which makes sense considering that’s what he’s played the most to this point in his high school career. But USF sees the 6-6, 268-pounder as an offensive tackle.

“I just started playing offensive line, as i switched from defensive lineman, but i bring the knowledge of a defensive lineman and understand the thought process of one,” Bellomy said. “As an O-lineman, I bring great athleticism and quick twitch.

“USF is developing me as an offensive tackle and believe I can be a high level tackle, so I’m trusting in them to develop me. I’m working as hard as I can to achieve my dreams.”

With Bellomy and Collins in the fold, USF has three offensive line commits. The other is Caleb Harris from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
