Former Nottingham Forest man Joe Lolley delivers brutal dig at Gareth Southgate after England vs Denmark at Euro 2024

England’s dreadful display on Thursday evening at Euro 2024 against Denmark has been slammed by the former Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley.

It was a disappointing night for the Three Lions on Thursday as their second game of this summer’s Euros failed to live up to expectations.

Not only did Gareth Southgate’s side fail to claim all three points, but their performance also left a lot to be desired.

Morgan Gibbs-White was Forest‘s only real shout of a potential call-up to the England squad this summer but he did not even make the provisional side.

And the display from Frankfurt has now seen one of the City Ground’s former stars provide his very honest thoughts on the management of Southgate as the Three Lions look to finally bring it home.

Joe Lolley unleashes on England’s Gareth Southgate

England’s draw against Denmark got off to a promising start as Harry Kane put the Three Lions ahead as Jude Bellingham did against Serbia.

However, England once again took their foot off the gas and allowed the Danes to really to the pressure Southgate’s side.

And it did not take too long for that pressure to pay off as Sporting CP’s midfielder Morten Hjulmand levelled the scoring.

Taking to Instagram in the wake of the draw, the former Forest winger had some harsh words to say about the current England manager.

“A lot of people slagging Southgate off but you have to give him credit for making a group of world class players look so horrendous, that’s not easy,” he said.

And it has to be said, many people will agree with what Lolley has claimed with players like Kane, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Declan Rice all looking completely ineffective.

Morgan Gibbs-White was not impressed by England snub

Gibbs-White was without doubt one of the more impressive players for Forest in what was a turbulent campaign for the club.

However, it did not prove enough to earn himself a place even in Southgate’s provisional squad with the likes of James Maddison and Jack Grealish in ahead of him.

And it is fair to say the 24-year-old did not take too kind to being left out of the squad as he took to his social media to simply post the laughing face emoji.

Regardless, he is a player who Forest will be desperate to keep ahold of over the coming months despite being a player who could bring them in some significant money.
