The race for Michael Olise is seemingly over with the Frenchman set to head to Bayern Munich as they’ve agreed a deal.
One of this summer’s biggest transfer stories has now ended as the news has broken that Michael Olise has made his decision over where he’ll be playing his football next season.
After weeks of Chelsea looking like the most likely option, now it’s been widely reported that he’s opted to make the move to Bayern Munich instead.
This was reported first by David Ornstein who explained that Crystal Palace’s most prized asset chose the German giants over both Chelsea and Newcastle.
Now, it’s been revealed exactly how much Palace are set to receive for the sale this summer.

While it’s been relatively clear for quite some time that Olise would be departing this summer, the nature of his release clause and potential fee have been less clear.
But after the news broke, Bayern-focused journalist Christian Falk revealed the finer details of the Olise sale.
He tweeted explaining that the 22-year-old wants Bayern which makes it a relatively simple deal to do.
Palace will receive £55 million as the Bundesliga giants trigger his release clause and they’ll also more than double his wage as he’ll be on £220,000 with the Bavarian giants.
While losing Olise isn’t ideal, losing him to Bayern feels a lot better than if he were to head to Chelsea.
What next for Crystal Palace after Olise sale?
Once the deal is official, Palace will have a far larger transfer kitty than they did prior to the sale, but Dougie Freedman will also be tasked with replacing Olise.
This is an eventuality that the club will have prepared for considering how likely it’s looked for months now.
We expect that the Eagles will move fairly quickly to secure a replacement with several possible names.
Matias Soule, Jaden Philogene and Noni Madueke have all been linked, while multiple other options are on the table too.
