Report: Crystal Palace could miss out on "amazing" £29m talent this summer as club don't plan on selling

Crystal Palace were said to be interested in replacing Michael Olise with one £29m talent, but now his club don’t want to sell.

Replacing Michael Olise, if he is to leave this summer, will be Dougie Freedman’s primary job, and it might even be impossible considering the impact he had last season.

But Chelsea looks hell-bent on signing the Frenchman from Crystal Palace, with reports over a possible player plus cash deal heating up recently.

Therefore it could be required that the Eagles replace Olise and in that event, the club already have multiple options which have been linked over the past few weeks.

But possibly the best option now looks unlikely as his club isn’t keen on losing him this summer.

Chelsea won’t be selling Noni Madueke this summer

As Chelsea remain interested in taking Olise from Selhurst Park, it was reported that Palace might actually enquire to take a right winger from Stamford Bridge in the form of Noni Madueke.

But now, according to a report by the Express, this is unlikely to lead to anything with Chelsea not willing to sell Madueke.

The report explains that Chelsea wants to keep Madueke, regardless of what happens with Olise. This comes as the Englishman’s future was cast into doubt due to him and Olise having similar profiles, this is also why Palace would have wanted to sign him.

The “amazing” winger cost Chelsea £29m in January 2023, and if he were included in a deal for Olise it could make it affordable for the Blues.

But with no Madueke on the table, should Palace even bother listening to Chelsea’s propositions?

Without Madueke, Palace should refuse to even discuss with Chelsea

Without having the option of signing Madueke, and Chelsea’s unwillingness to spend the amount required to sign Olise a deal may not suit Palace.

Having the possibility of Armando Broja or Trevoh Chalobah included isn’t that exciting as neither offer as much as the cash would to the Eagles.

With those two involved in the deal, Chelsea may think they can knock £50m off the Olise deal, but with these funds, the excellent recruitment of Freedman could be far more valuable.

So Palace must stand strong and refuse a deal which doesn’t suit them this summer, with Madueke plus cash or straight cash being the only acceptable deal.
