What Chelsea are planning to do in the transfer market after missing out on Michael Olise - journalist

Chelsea fans have been reading constant rumours linking them to Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise in recent weeks, but it looks like they’re missing out on his signature.

Palace attacker Michael Olise, 22, has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via Playback on Wednesday that Chelsea have made it an “obsession” this summer to sign Olise and were confident of completing a deal.

However, The Athletic claimed on Friday night that Chelsea have pulled out of the race to sign the Palace right-winger because the finances involved were deemed beyond reach.

BBC Sport now suggests that Olise is set to join German heavyweights Bayern Munich this summer.

What Chelsea are planning after missing out on Michael Olise

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has now claimed via X on Saturday that Chelsea do have plans in the transfer market despite the move for Olise collapsing.

It is understood that the Blues are aiming to sign two more attackers in this summer window.

Apparently, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca could welcome in a new winger, plus another centre-forward.

Chelsea supporters may have become invested in the idea of Olise lining up at Stamford Bridge next season, but let’s see what the club has up their sleeve as an alternative.

There’s no doubt that the Palace star would have been a real statement signing. We expect he’ll thrive and go to the next level in Munich.

Pressure on recruitment team

If Chelsea do sign a new winger, he’s naturally going to be compared to Olise.

He’s the sort of signing that would have improved the starting XI from day one, so the club’s recruiters need to think about that when identifying their next priority target in this window.

Hopefully, this isn’t the start of a messy summer at Chelsea.
