Man City are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to loan out player Pep Guardiola called ‘quality’

Manchester City are no strangers when it comes to loaning players out to other sides across Europe.

In recent years, the Citizens have sent players such as Joao Cancelo, James McAtee, Liam Delap and Josh Wilson-Esbrand out on loan to a variety of different clubs.

Now that another summer transfer window is open, some behind-the-scenes information has come to light regarding another player the Manchester club could loan out from the Etihad Stadium before the start of next season.

Man City in advanced negotiations to loan out Maximo Perrone

Sharing the information on his X account, journalist Cesar Luis Merlo had this to say on the situation.

He said: “Las Palmas has advanced negotiations to repatriate Maxi Perrone. The club is working on a new one-year loan with no purchase option from Manchester City.”

City should loan Perrone out again

City signed the midfielder from Velez Sarsfield back in the 2023 January transfer window on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

Back in February 2023, Pep Guardiola highlighted and praised the “individual quality” the 21-year-old has.

After then making just two substitute appearances in the second half of City’s Treble-winning season, the Argentine was loaned out to Las Palmas last summer.

During his time at the Spanish club, Perrone featured in 29 La Liga games, starting 20 of them.

The midfielder ended the campaign with the fifth-highest percentage of accurate passes (90.1%) in the squad as well as the fourth-highest number of interceptions (24) at the club.

Having proved his effectiveness on the ball as well as being useful in winning it back for his side, it’s easy to see why the La Liga side are apparently keen to land another loan deal for the City man.

Moving forward, from City’s point of view, we feel that if Perrone isn’t likely to be a regular figure in Pep Guardiola’s side next season, another loan move away to Las Palmas where he’d be playing regularly could be the ideal move for all parties.
